What is your job title here at Star Auto Sales?
Sales Associate and I do DMV filing and assist with specialty financing.
How long have you worked here?
I have been here since July 2011, I can’t believe it has been over 6 years. My son was a toddler when I started here and now he is double digits and my little one is three.
What do you love the most about working for at Star Auto Sales?
Salespeople are problem solvers and not having a car here in Connecticut is stressful. I love relieving them of stress and helping people get into a vehicle they never thought they could buy. The feeling of seeing someone happy with a new car and not buried in a loan they can’t afford brings me joy.
I am Dominican and fluent in Spanish. Meriden and the surrounding communities have a lot of Hispanic people. Being able to meet with a customer and their family and speak their language helps them feel comfortable with their purchase, it helps them know what they are buying. And therefore I am able to be helpful.
What do you like to do when you're not at work?
Boys, boys, and boys. I have a couple of great boys and we go bike riding, local activates, go to church in Middletown.
What brought you to the automotive industry?
Back in High School I wanted to go into the automotive training program at EC Goodwin Technical High School but didn’t want to be the only girl. So a few years later when a friend told me about the job opening in sales I jumped at it. It was a good career opportunity I could grow with. I know it would be good for me and my family.
What is a favorite customer story or success?
There have been so many great customer experiences over the years. Recently I was working with a young woman who didn’t have credit established or a co-signer. Every dealership she had visited had turned her down. Since Star Auto Sales has a variety of lending institutions Gary LaPointe in Finance and I were able to get her approved without a co-signer for the car she wanted. She was so happy and relieved after so much rejection. It brought joy to me to see her gain her independence by purchasing her own vehicle.
